The Outward Bound Odyssey is making its way up the East Coast of the United States with the support of the Enlyten Team Strip It Up. Twenty Outward Bound instructors are travelling up the coast on this seven week expedition in two Sharpie Schooners - 30-foot long, open sailboats with oars instead of motors for propulsion in light winds.
Facing rough seas, sleepless nights, meals on the go, and long periods of rowing in light winds, these intrepid adventurers will be benefiting from all the current enlyten products:
- Energy strips to keep them going during long stretches underway.
- Electrolytes to maintain their electrolyte levels during extended periods of physical activity, both heavy weather sailing and light air rowing.
- Antioxidants to supplement what they may not be getting in their diets (it’s hard to store fresh fruits and vegetables for long on an open boat).
- Melatonin to wind down when they come off watch or head into a port.
In addition to the benefits of the nutraceutical ingredients, enlyten’s delivery mechanism and packaging provide these endurance athletes several benefits:
- Patent-pending, bi-layer technology provides concentrated dosages in a small mechanism - the strip.
- Enlyten’s great flavors mean that these good-tasting products are easier to want to take when you need them!
- Plastic, re-sealable packaging is small, convenient, and keeps the strips dry on an open boat.
- Quick dissolving strips are easy to take underway, between watches, or when juggling the myriad tasks to be accomplished when in port or at anchor.
The sailors arrived travelled from Norfolk, VA over the weekend and arrived in Annapolis, MD today. Here, the Odyssey sailors will receive their strips for the leg from Annapolis to Newport, RI. Strip It Up, Outward Bound!
